Fields & Frames - Evaluation
Overall, I am incredibly proud of what I have learnt throughout this whole process of creating a moving sequence through projection mapping. I have learned a lot about After Effects and how to use it and the parameters of what you can't do also. I think that I would have liked to experimented with actually painting but I was so taken away by the possibilities of technology and digital painting that I didn't want to waste any time and start creating my piece. I would have liked to have give myself more time to create my sound piece on ProTools rather than Audition as the software is quite limiting. I would have liked to have experimented with panning the sounds but I struggled to figure out how to apply this in Audition. I think visually my piece is strong. I really love the effect of projecting onto the drawing gives a screen-like effect. I think that the piece works with the mapping process but understand that it could have been separate or have the lines on the sequence too but the projected lines made the visual too holographic. To move forward I would like to learn a projection mapping software because as interesting it has been to learn how to achieve a similar effect by using a process this time is cut out and means I can focus more on the context of the piece and potentially creating something interactive.
