I made a quick list of the advantages of technology in our society today. 

Convenience 

• Faster processes such as deliveries i.e. Amazon
• Organization of large systems 

Crime prediction 

• More effective crime solving methods
• DNA testing and analyzing
• Tracking
• Uncovering deleted files  
• Cyber crime being solved 

Entertainment 

• Better movies 
• More movies
• Technology allowing people to be more creative with their hobbies such as photography, sowing, music etc 
• Physical entertainment such as Lazor tag, indoor snowzones, light shows

Job creation 

• IT jobs 
• work related tasks running smoother
• Desk jobs 
• Information 

Education 

• More accurate information 
• More information 
• The internet 
• Being able to choose a career path that is related to a technical field 

Global communication 

• Emergency help can be deployed quicker
• Decisions made quicker
• Information spread faster such as the Paris Attacks information spread quickly
• Being able to keep in touch with friends in different countries
• Being able to have the information to understand different cultures 

Travel 

• Faster traveling systems
• GPS accurate finding of places  
• Different modes of transport used effectively for your preferences 

Better health care 

• Improved technologies for surgeries
• Minimalising the impact of in depth and brutal surgeries
• MRI and CAT scanning, being able to detect issues quicker 
• Systems allowing more people to be treated faster 
• Logging of diseases or virus' give information on how things spread and how they can be treated and prevented

Giving people a voice i.e. better goods, reviews, empowering people who would not have a voice usually, better systems
