Editing 1 - Portrait Series

I started editing my image by adjusting the raw image and brought the highlights and shadows out more. I liked the composition of the image and the crop but decided to bring it in a little to make it tighter/closer to the subject.

I used the camera raw filter to adjust my image to bring out more of the detail and shadows even further as I wanted the foreground to be very sharp with a gradual blur.

I boosted the vibrancy of his beard as the colour was washed out too much and wanted to bring out the natural colours of it as I saw myself in person. I used some of the dodge and burn tools and a grey layer to touch up on the small details of the lines in his face.

I duplicated my image and linked a black and white adjustment to my image and changed the blend mode to multiply which basically takes away the lighter highlights and leaves you with the dark tones which creates more depth to the image which I found from a Youtube video which is now removed unfortunately. From my research I wanted to  incorporate the style which Lee Jeffries edits his images as they are incredibly detailed.

I also used gaussian blur layers and masks to be able to draw focus on the face which creates a really dynamic frame.
