Projection experiments part two
After looking into projecting an image of myself on my own face. I thought about a quote I heard and had to investigate where it came from.
The idea itself is credited to Jim Rohn but many other motivational speakers and psychologists have interpreted the phrase too but I prefer how Tim Ferriss phrased it. Our social influences makes us all more homogeneous as we all impact the people around us. Peoples interactions with us affect the decisions we make, self-esteem and our thought processes. I would like to interpret this idea of the five most important people around you influence you and play on this idea a bit more. I like the idea of projecting the five most important peoples faces onto my own. I could photoshop their faces into one singular face and then project that onto mine, or perhaps I could project each individual face.
Overall, this idea wasn't a successful idea as the outcomes weren't how I imagined them. After trying to line up other peoples faces onto my own it became apparent that this was going to need a lot of time and practice to be able to master and I should use this as something to learn from.
To be able to get the desired effect that I wanted to create I believe that I should use Photoshop to be able to create this to its full potential. Therefore, I want to develop this using physical objects and my surroundings to project who I am in a physical form. I will look into symbolism of objects and how they can convey different meaning. Also looking at how to stage an image; a photographer which comes to mind from this is Cecil Beaton.
